Weird Addictions

I started thinking about all the weird things that people could be addicted to.
ad⋅dict⋅ed [uh-dik-tid] adjective
compulsively or physiologically dependent on something habit-forming

  • Writing the number 100
  • Popping bubble wrap
  • Smelling gasoline -- addicts are generally seen lurking at gas stations
  • Hearing the word "helmet"
  • Breaking ceramic plates
  • Eating raw flour
  • Climbing fences with barbed wire on top
  • Turning volume knobs up -- addicts are almost always deaf
  • Hoarding hairs they find in their food
  • Making black and white collages
  • Using 0.7 green ballpoint pens
  • Trying peoples glasses on -- often addicts will approach strangers on the street to do this
  • Wearing too-small gloves -- if your children are constantly losing their gloves, they may have befriended a small glove addict
  • Salt licks
  • Staring at plants that are over 12 feet tall
  • Collecting individual snowflakes
  • Drinking hair products -- funnily enough, most addict's hair are unhealthy
  • Smiling -- this addiction is a problem at funerals, when hearing bad news, in business meetings, etc. Please remember the definition of an addiction, and imagine being addicted to smiling for this one
  • Writing on coloured paper -- addicts refuse to use regular paper
  • Eating snow -- addicts will travel to snowy places to collect
  • Falling down ladders on purpose but making it seem like it was an accident
  • Talking about people -- addicts will often feel such a need to do this that they will actually talk to the person they are talking about: "Hey, Judy, did you know that you're a huge slut? Yeah, I know, can you believe it!?"
  • Meeting people with last names that have more than 13 letters
  • Putting Christmas lights up 11 months early
  • Watching TV -- once again, remember the definition of what an addiction it and imagine being actually addicted to television
  • Wearing slippers outside
