Christmas Eve

Today is the 24th of December, the night before Christmas. Christmas eve.
That means that Santa has probably started his travel around the world by now. I can just see it, him and his jolly red suit soaring through the air.
Now that i'm old enough to understand it, I can analyze the whole tradition and be royally freaked out.

First off, big, fat man intruding into people's homes to drop off "presents"?
My mom always told me not to accept things from strangers, and even though Santa Clause is portrayed as a sweet old man that is the spirit of Christmas, I can't help but be suspicious.

Second, he comes into our homes, sometimes by force (if we have no chimney, and to be honest, who does these days?), and eats our junk food. Some people leave cookies and milk out, and vegetables for his reindeer. If they don't, then food disappears from the fridge. I don't like having strangers in my home, but if they insist i'm lenient. But when they take the food it gets kind of ridiculous.

Third... his reindeer. According to legend, he travels the world in one night and has been doing so for who knows how long. All with the same reindeer. Wow.
These creatures are probably infected with who knows what: rabies, fleas, AIDS, etc. And they're on our roofs?!

I do like the presents, though, stranger-given or not. I tend to treat them the same way I treat homemade Halloween candy.
